Shipping Wood Slabs

We ship wood slabs individually or by the pallet, with select pieces offering basic free shipping within the lower 48 states. Oversized items or shipments outside these areas require a custom quote after checkout. For the lowest shipping cost, we recommend delivery to a local lumber yard, business, or freight/mail carrier center instead of a residential address. Local pickup is available at our shop by appointment only in Gold Beach, Oregon, with equipment on-site for loading—please call ahead to schedule.

IDRY machine in the High West Wood Workshop

Drying Wood in the Coastal Air

Our wood shop is located in Gold Beach, Oregon. The traditional method of drying wood is to let it sit on stickers for several years to achieve around a 20% maximum dryness with our moist air environment on the coast. To achieve a dryer wood in less time, we have acquired a new technology kiln drying machine for our unique woods from a company called iDry. This new machine can dry wet wood 5-10 times faster using a continuous vacuum system with a combination of heat and vacuum getting the moisture levels down to around 8%. Wood leaves this new kiln dry, lightweight, sterilized and ready for finishing.

Project Ready Wood Slabs

After kiln drying with our iDry system, slabs are processed through our Wood Wizz machine for a flat, high-quality finish. Each piece is sealed in plastic to maintain proper moisture during storage and shipping. Our live edge slabs are ideal for epoxy tables, charcuterie boards, custom furniture, and more. Custom cuts available upon request.

We carry a larger inventory on-site than what’s listed online, so visiting in person gives you access to even more options and one-of-a-kind pieces.
