At High West Wood Products we take pride in our natural wood products. We enjoy the challenge of cutting uniquely shaped and figured woods. Careful thought and years of experience is utilized to make sure the log goes on the saw in the right position to get the best end result. Each piece of wood is salvaged, milled and dried on site and ready to be shipped.
Irwin and Linda Wright, owners of High West Wood Products, have over 35 years in the wood industry. Irwin began as a logger, developing a deep appreciation for unique and highly figured wood.
Early on, he focused on salvaging special pieces—burls, spalted lumber, and character-rich logs—providing materials for craftsmen building high-end, one-of-a-kind furniture.
In 1986, the family moved to Gold Beach, Oregon, where their logging operation grew into a full crew running yarders, trucks, and equipment throughout the region.
Today, the focus has shifted. With advanced milling and drying equipment in their shop, Irwin specializes in salvaging and reclaiming high-value wood that would otherwise be lost—turning overlooked material into something worth keeping.
Sometimes you just need to see and feel the wood to be inspired for your next woodworking or DIY project. Thats why we offer appointments to browse our selection of unique woods in our wood shop located in Gold Beach, Oregon.
We sell wood by the piece or by the truck load and will work with you to get just what you need. Visits are by appointment only, so please call ahead to schedule a time. We also have additional slabs available in the shop beyond what’s listed online.
Our slabs are photographed in their natural, unfinished state. In some images, we wet the wood to show how it will look once sealed. This brings out the grain, color, and character you can expect in the final piece.
We are offering basic free shipping to the lower 48 United States on select wood products. Shipping to regions outside of the free shipping zone or faster shipping options may be possible, but will require a custom quote, paid for separately after checkout.
Very large and Multiple item orders are not available for free shipping. Contact High West Wood for large sale or bulk order shipments. Shipping costs for large orders may be less if it is shipped to a local mail carrier shipping center, lumber store or business instead of a home address.

We carry a wide selection of live edge slabs including Myrtlewood, Claro Walnut, Redwood, Juniper, Madrone, Port Orford Cedar, Tan Oak, and burl wood. Inventory changes regularly as new slabs are added.
Yes, our slabs are kiln-dried and professionally milled to ensure quality, stability, and usability for tables, mantles, epoxy projects, and custom woodworking.
